I’ve attached a photograph of my son reading Please, Baby, Please by Spike Lee (illustrated by Tanya Lee Lewis). This was back when he was somewhere around 1 year.
We’ve been reading to him since he was 3 weeks old. We still read this book to him. He is now 3 and a half.
For my baby shower we asked people to bring a book to include his first library. So he’s always around books. We make a point to provide books by people of color and books with people of color as main characters.
His favorite is The Mystery of the Missing Dog. Oh and my favorite photo of he and my husband reading when he was 2
