It’s Almost Like NASDAQ

January 11th, 2006

We all, as bloggers, read and wait for comments. You'd be lying if you said otherwise. So today and yesterday were certainly COMMENT days for me. Okay…I went a little comment wild, here, here, and here, because of what I call "the fish hook." Meaning…it's that one thing that sparks readers to respond to a post.

Then, as always, it got me wondering if bloggers are driven by comments alone? Or, are they driven by the nature of their posts? This may not be the best comparison, but the Myspace genners, seem to be solely interested in who comments on their pages good, bad or indifferent. There's also no closing bell.

    Hi Amy,

Of course we all like comments – even disagreeable ones. It means someone is listening. It’s a conversation – sort of.

I resolved some time ago to make sure I post on others blogs as often as I post on my own. I think I may change the rule to make sure I post twice as often on others.

    I appreciate your work.

    Doug

That’s a good idea for all of us to follow…thanks Doug.
